BRICS Universities League

A Global Consortium of Academic Excellence

The BRICS Universities League is an esteemed consortium of leading research universities from the five BRICS countries at the time—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Established on July 6, 2013, at Fudan University in Shanghai, this initiative aims to foster academic collaboration, comparative research, and international educational projects among these prominent institutions. The League's Secretariat is strategically located at Beijing Normal University, a leader in BRICS higher education and academic cooperation. This central hub facilitates seamless coordination among member institutions.

Initiated in 2013 with the vision of enhancing global academic cooperation.
By October 2015, around 40 outstanding universities from the BRICS countries gathered at Beijing Normal University to discuss and advance this collaborative effort.
Following the 2015 forum, participating universities formalized their commitment by declaring the Beijing Consensus and establishing the League.

The BRICS Universities League serves as a strategic pillar for BRICS cooperation, aiming to expand its network by attracting more outstanding universities from across the BRICS nations. By fostering international collaboration, the League contributes significantly to global academic advancement and knowledge sharing.

Together, we strive to shape a brighter future through collaborative research and education.
